The NFL has flexed the Seahawks 49ers game into the Sunday primetime slot for Week 16 on December 23rd.  The game originally slated for this spot was the Chargers and Jets, who both have losing records this season.  This makes the 49ers’ next two games on Sunday night, this week’s game coming against the Patriots in New England.

The 49ers are 4-0 in primetime games this season.  This will be the first primetime game for Seattle since the infamous Green Bay “Fail Mary” game back in Week 3 in which the replacement referees made a controversial call and infamously ended the lockout by the starting referees.

The primetime game in Seattle could come down to who wins the NFC West; the 49ers currently hold a 1-½ game lead over the Seahawks.  If the 49ers fall to New England this week and Seattle wins over the Bills, this game will determine the lead in the NFC West.

The Seahawks are currently undefeated at home.
